There’s nothing particularly special about my favorite pair of shoes – only that I’ve had them since my feet stopped growing about 12 years ago. They’re worn in just the right spots; bend in just the right places. Fragments of dried grass tell the story of my love of the outdoors and the rubbed toe guard warns observant onlookers of my clumsy nature.

 

Our shoes tell the story of our journey. Our journey is an integral part of who we are and who we are becoming.

 

Covenant Care’s ‘Our Shoes’ program was created to offer on-going support and encouragement to women whose journeys share the similar path of choosing an adoption plan. Birth Mothers have opportunities to meet for continued post-placement counseling and are invited to special events throughout the state to honor and encourage them on their journey.
