We will advocate for you as your caseworker and as your friend.
Finding out that you’re pregnant can be an overwhelming time. You may be hearing opinions and advice from many people in your life. We are focused on helping you discover what is best for you and your child.
Covenant Care has a network of professional caseworkers throughout Georgia who are ready to meet you where you are … literally. The caseworker in your area will gladly come meet with you in your home, at a restaurant, in a park, or wherever you’re most comfortable.
We promise that we will never pressure you through your decision-making process. Your caseworker will be interested in developing a trusting, supportive relationship with you whether you choose to make an adoption plan or to parent.
We will connect you with resources.
Along with counseling and supporting you, your caseworker has access to resources that may be helpful to you. If you need a doctor, housing, or insurance she may know just the right person to call! After connecting you with local resources, we may be able to help with remaining, unmet needs.
We will help you understand all of your options.
Others may be pressuring you to “keep your baby” or to have an abortion without first educating you on all of your options. We will help you understand how to make a plan for parenting your child, if that is your desire. We will also discuss with you how making an adoption plan is a positive and life-affirming option that allows you to care for your baby by planning for his or her future.
If you choose adoption, we will help you design a plan that fits your needs.
Most adoptions through Covenant Care are defined as “semi-open.” This means that you choose a family to adopt your baby based on what you feel is most important. For example, do you want your baby to be raised by parents with a college education? Be a stay-at-home mom? Do you want a family with no other children, or do you want your child to have lots of siblings? Do you want to receive periodic updates about your child after adoption placement? We will guide you through the process of crafting your unique adoption plan.
After adoption, we will be here to support you in the months and years to come.
We understand that making an adoption plan is not an event, it’s a process. Through Covenant Care’s “Our Shoes” ministry you have the opportunity for ongoing support for months or even years after making your adoption plan. You can interact with other women who also chose adoption and our caseworkers will continue to provide you with whatever support you need as you continue in life. Know that Covenant Care’s desire to serve you does not end when your baby is born.
