Five Benefits of Working with a Local Georgia Agency

The internet makes it feel like we have every option at our fingertips. However, just because an ad shows up on your Google search does not mean that agency is ready to serve you. In fact, many unlicensed providers (facilitators, consultants, etc.) spend a lot of money on ads to convince pregnant women to work with them – even though they are not physically located in your state and may not have your best interests in mind.
There are many benefits of working with a local agency. Here are just a few:

1 – You can know your adoption is legit.
An agency operating in Georgia needs to be licensed here and abide by the state’s laws (this protects YOU). Because of this, out-of-state agencies or attorneys who are not licensed in Georgia have to do some shady workarounds to make your adoption happen (this doesn’t protect YOU or YOUR CHILD). This is NOT the best way to go through something as serious as a plan for you and your child.
2 – You can KNOW who you are working with.
These are benefits of working with a local agency, like meeting face-to-face. When you meet someone in person – you can better judge whether they will do what they say they are going to do. Adoption needs trust.
We can come to serve you, support you, and answer all of your questions wherever you feel most comfortable.
Furthermore, our agency has been serving women in Georgia for over 30 years, and we can introduce you to other women who have received our services.
3 – Your rights are important.
Did you know that adoption laws are different in each state? Some unlicensed agencies from out-of-state spend a lot of money advertising in Georgia with the goal of tricking women into working with them. Often, these unlicensed agencies want you to waive your Georgia rights to adhere to laws in other states that do not advocate quite as strictly for a mother’s rights. That’s not fair!
4 – You deserve support.
You’re in a hard spot. That’s why you’re working with an agency to begin with. You may need more support than a virtual agency can provide. Need help with transportation? We’re there. A support person in labor? Let’s make a plan. Connections to state benefits? Help navigating conversations about adoptions with your family members? Let us come in person and give you the help you need.
5 – Support shouldn’t end at delivery.
Our agency offers ongoing support even after you place your baby for adoption. And since we are here in Georgia, that means in-person counseling meetings as you process, a support person during your visits with your child (if you want one), and even retreats to meet other birth mothers who have made the same decision as you!
